Phyllis Koppel is a mixed media painter who works in series concentrating on cultures and the implements they use. In this case, vessels, pots and vases.Her first series in Canada concentrated on the vessels themselves, usually in dark forgotten places. She then worked on a series examining the different cultures found in the multi-cultural city of Toronto. Currently, the body of work she is working on marries both themes above and examines people of different cultures and how they use various vessels.
