'I paint and sculpt to get a grip on reality... to protect myself.' - Alberto Giacometti - The content of my work is very much reflected in this statement. My art is a journey of self-discovery and self-expression. My creativity thrives on experimentation, so I love to work in many different mediums such as acrylics, collage, wood, found objects, stone, and drawings. I am drawn to abstraction and color which has allowed my work to evolve into an emotional exploration. I have exhibited my work in: Manhattan in From the Art of New York, the Ohr-Okeefe Museum of Art in the ' Diggin it 2007 Ohr Rising Gulf States Juried Competition,' 2007 Mississippi Collegiate Art Juried Competition, 2006 Yellow pages Juried Competition, Magnolia Framing and Art Gallery, Whistlestop Gallery. Hi Rhonda, good to have you as a friend. Great work! Especially like your "distilled" sculptural forms. You don't seem to impose the same restraints on yourself when you paint - that's an interesting approach - I've been wanting to take up the brush again - it may bear no resemblance to my 3-D work. -
